Valuing Cultural Capital and Creativity (UK)

The role played by cultural institutions (and cultural activity) in the regeneration of cities was highlighted in a project developed by the Noema team in the Scottish city of Dundee. This consultancy involved an assessment of the status of local cultural organisations (and their level of activity) along with recommendations on how such institutions could contribute to the establishment of a new identity for this city, which is undergoing massive urban and social transformation. The overarching aim was to produce a strategic framework capable of bringing the high-level Dundee stakeholders (from culture, leisure, economic development, education, regeneration and community planning) into a cultural development partnership able to deliver on key actions in a more creative and effective way.
